In the correct management of an orthodontic treatment plan, an excellent finish is fundamental and requires a series of procedures which, starting from the diagnosis, pass through an appropriate execution of the treatment plan ending with the finishing phase. This last, certainly critical, determines and distinguishes the excellence of the treatment performed and characterizes the operator. To this end, the report will examine some procedures that are considered essential to achieve excellent oral health, correct facial, dental and smile harmony, functional occlusion and create the conditions to obtain long-term stability. We can certainly state that there are procedures that must be carefully followed and which can be summarized as follows: 1. have clear treatment objectives 2. pay attention to the positioning of the brackets, taking into account the need for ongoing repositioning and an end of therapy 3. if it is necessary to work on modifications of the arches 4. never lose sight of the patient's face, smile and periodontium. 5. Always keep functional occlusion in mind 6. Consider reshape additives or reductants if necessary 7. Always consider the best long-term retention strategy for the individual case. At the end of the report, the listener will be able to develop awareness of the importance of carefully following the indications given, of possessing good knowledge of diagnosis and being in possession of a good orthodontic technique, fundamental requirements for obtaining the success of a therapy.
